Week 3

During this week the celebration of “Feria de las Flores” took place on Thursday. So, I could not be with the tenth and eleventh groups. The first day I was told by the secondary English teacher to prepare classes for sixth, eighth and ninth about the structure of the auxiliaries in simple past when making questions. Indeed, it was necessary to recover that topic in all groups, so I proposed different activities in order to get students encouraged with them. 

This was the first day teaching in secondary groups, but it was good because I felt confidence among the students of the group. Seriously, I do not know why but at this point I can assure that it is better to give classes in secondary than in primary, maybe this happens because of the average difference of age between secondary students and I. They might feel confident due to the fact that I look very young compared to the other teachers of the school, so they can treat me in a different way. 

But nevertheless, this could be a double-edge weapon for me because I know that it is impossible to treat students like friends because of the authority. The authority is something necessary for a teacher to be respectable by students and sometimes it is difficult to impose it in the class because knowledge is not enough to be a figure for the learners.
